Andrea Paolo Colombo (b. 1987), born and raised in Milan,
now lives and works in Portovenere.
After abandoning his studies in economics, he trained as a
fashion designer at IED in Milan and at Aalto University
in Helsinki. He began his career as a designer/prototypist
in London, before returning to Milan to found his brand,
Nono Leni, an endeavor that occupied him for a decade.
In parallel, he also worked as a costume designer for dance
theater and video art projects.
During this time, he started a journey into holistic studies
as a spiritual researcher (with a particular focus on
audiotherapy), studies that allowed him to understand
the necessity of abandoning product and consumption
dynamics to dedicate himself to artistic research that could
delve deeper.
He then began painting at the age of 36, as a self-taught
artist, to give himself the right to do so.
He mainly focuses on painting, with more material
digressions and three-dimensional extrusions in the form of
dioramas.
Painting is a struggle against personal repression and the
oppression of social judgment, a way to actively participate
in the emotional revolution of his generation.
It represents a vital opportunity to create “terraforming
portals.” The visual representation and evocative elements
allow one to experience, as in a mirror, the archetypes of the
emotional spectrum, materializing the depth of the human
soul.
The central theme is affectionate relationships, rich in
perspectives and analogies, of the emotional prisms that
reflect and transform the conflicting flows of vital energy.
